State of the Art Review: Public Sector Innovation

This review by Halima Khan provides an introduction to public sector innovation and the role it plays in enabling governments to address social, economic and environmental challenges. As a relatively new field, public sector innovation shares much of its theoretical foundations with private sector innovation but recent work has begun to differentiate it in terms of theory, concepts and practice. With public sector spend accounting for about 45% of GDP, it is increasingly important to understand the role and potential impact of innovation in the public sector.
