This review sets out sets out why environmental sustainability is a powerful driver of innovation, and the benefits that innovation for environmental sustainability can bring. ‘Environmental sustainability’ is an umbrella term for ensuring that the impacts of human activity do not damage the ability of air, land and water systems to continue to function in a way that supports healthy life.
