PhD Regional Innovation and Enterprise Colloquium

This PhD Regional Innovation and Enterprise Colloquium is co-sponsored by The Innovation & Research Caucus and Oxford Regions, Innovation and Enterprise Lab at Oxford Brookes University. The event will be led by IRC Co-Investigator, Dr Shera Abdul Rahman.

The colloquium is designed to give PhD students an insight into post-PhD career paths, networking opportunities, and skills development in the areas of Regional Innovation and Enterprise.

When: Monday 9th June, 10:00 – 16:00

Where: Sir Kenneth Wheare Hall Flat, CLC.G.03, Oxford Brookes Business School, Headington Campus, OX3 0BP

The colloquium aims to:

• explore diverse career options after completing a PhD
• facilitate discussions on applying research to address grand challenges from a regional perspective
• introduce participants to the funding landscape and proposal development
• enhance presentation and communication skills through a three-minute thesis competition
• foster networking and collaboration among attendees and established professionals in the field

Through interactive activities, panel discussions, and roundtable sessions, attendees will gain valuable knowledge and connections to support their future career development in academia and industry.

Spaces for this event are limited. We are therefore inviting expressions of interest to attend via application form below. As part of the application process, we ask you to submit a 150-word abstract about your research. From the successful applications, we will select 8 people to take part in the three-minute thesis competition (if you would like to be considered as one of the people selected to take part in the competition, please indicate this on the application form below).
